[Dovecot] Trouble getting TLS to work

Hi.

I've Dovecot running on Solaris 9. Logging in without SSL or TLS works.
Logging in with SSL (port 993) works. Logging in with TLS does not work.
Tried Eudora, Thunderbird and Outlook Express, but none of them could
log in.

Outlook returns an error message like: "PLAIN authentication failed. None
of the authentication methods supported by your IMAP server are supported
on this computer.".

Since SSL is working, I think I can savely say the SSL parameters are OK.
My config includes the lines:

disable_plaintext_auth = no
auth = default
auth_mechanisms = plain
auth_userdb = passwd
auth_passdb = pam


What could cause this problem??
