They are too.  Though the name 0.99.20050712 hides that pretty well. We
will have a better package naming convention for 1.0alpha.

The reason for the delay in 1.0alpha packages is rather embarassing.  My
co-maintainer and I want to put the package under version control and we
have selected arch.  But I still haven't completely figured it out.  But
I'm working on it as we speak so there will probably be packages by the
end of the day.
