[Dovecot] Problems with Oulook Clients

We installed dovecot from source so if you look in /usr/local/src/ you'll
find a directory called
dovecot-0.99.14

Dovecot is version 0.99.14

Yes - there are some "work-around" options in the config file - one
specifically for the timeout issue you describe.  I recommend you take a
read through the dovecot.conf file; it has a fair bit of documentation in it
on what the various options are for.
