Point your boss to RHEL5 release notes, RHEL5 will ship with dovecot 1.0rc7.
Tell him to wait until RHEL5 is release and to buy a copy of it for 400+ 
or 4000+ US$

Meanwhile, let all please stop asking for a 1.0 release, because:
- it will not rush a 1.0 release
- it was asked before, many many times and its becoming annoying
- it will not change Timo's mind, he knows what he is doing
