[Dovecot] unable to read mail - file istream-raw-mbox.c: line 499...

Greetings all,
I (nor anyone else) am suddely unable to read mail.
Dovecot dumps the following in it's log:

NOTE: 'username' represents the users name at that time.

The users subscribed to folders all show up. But no mail is visable.
Dovecot is leaving username.lock files in /var/mail as well. It doesn't 
do this
on my other servers running dovecot. They are using older versions of dovecot
tho.
Does anyone know what might be causing these problems?

Relavent info follows:
Dovecot version: 1.0.r15
OS: freebsd-5.5
