[Dovecot] avoiding getting maildir cur/ folder contents?

~35k on biggest worst folders. The thing is that dovecot seems to not
just read the contents once but for each select or something.

I don't trust reiserfs at all, it has eaten my data repeatedly. It would
also be quite hard to go away from ext3 anyway :)
