So no matter if the account has been created at any location within the domain example.com as these parameters are obtained from vchkpw? 

According to your knowledge my configuration is correct?

  userdb:
    driver: prefetch
    args: uid=89 gid=89 home=/usr/vpopmail/domains/%d/%u
