I second Charles' opinion that in this case running beta software is a
pretty bad choice.

That aside: what keeps you from installing a recent Dovecot build on a
different machine/some VM/wherever and see if you can reproduce the
issue there?
If it also happens there, I guess at least it will be easier for Timo to
put some meaning to the BT.
