[Dovecot] director in large(ish) environments

Can i ask how are you storing your mail ? like, NFS, gfs, ocfs2  etc

and with type, like  mbox, maildir, sdbox etc..

In my system we are not usign director, using IPVS  but having lots of IO
wait problems!
