recompile dovecot, or update to later stable ?, 1.2.15 is not the 
latest in 1.x, and its more or less a flame war on dovecot maillist to 
keep 1.x running :(

as i read it you have upgraded gcc/glibc, if its gentoo/funtoo, 
revdep-rebuild will fix it

i have 1.2.16
