I've seen this sometimes during make distcheck I think. Maybe only when
using -j flag to use multiple cores. Never figured out how that could
happen, and then it went away I guess, or at least I haven't noticed it
for a while now. Every time I tried to run make via strace to figure out
what was happening it didn't fail. Very annoying error message. I
suspect a make bug.
