This is already documented there.

This is controlled with 'SUBSCRIPTIONS' mail location setting, see
https://wiki2.dovecot.org/MailLocation, it is not Maildir *specific* file.

It's just not repeating the same thing. It says "location of control
files" and links to Maildir
