Any supported SQL database will work then, ie. Postgres too.. Actually I
think LDAP also works nowadays by just giving all the required
parameters in user_attrs field.

static userdb works too, assuming you can set the template correctly
with its limited functionality..

passwd-file should probably be modified to supports extra parameters too
some day.
