[Dovecot] Plain Authentication - Outlook not working

What problems exist with Thunderbird?  Both my wife and I are using 
Thunderbird with no issues on both OSX and WindowsXP.

(No issues that I'm noticing anyway).  I'm using 1.0 Test 64:

Dovecot v1.0-test64 starting up
