Thanks, this was UnixWare-specific problem but I did a couple of other
fixes so it shouldn't anymore break this strangely in future.

The real problem was that UNIX sockets were created as fifos by
UnixWare, and Dovecot didn't find any authentication sockets to connect
to. This has been fixed in CVS now, and I left a tarball in my home dir
for a version that should work in UnixWare without any changes.
