Can't figure out why managesieve (pigeonhole) can't connect

Did you edit the plugin config for your setup or are you just using defaults?
For example:

     $config['managesieve_host'] = 'localhost:4190';
     $config['managesieve_auth_type'] = 'PLAIN';
     $config['managesieve_default'] = '';
