I was able to replicate this (or something very similar) on MacOS 15/intel.
In my case, if I connect over imap things work, but over imaps the imap process dies with signal 6 (built against openssl 3.6.5). I spent a little time in lldb but wasn't able to isolate what was happening. I didn't see any interesting logs from dovecot (just looked like client disconnected after sending 0 commands).
