Do you have mailbox_list_index_very_dirty_syncs=yes? If yes, does the problem go away if you run: doveadm -o mailbox_list_index_very_dirty_syncs=no mailbox list -u $user

Yes, I have mailbox_list_index_very_dirty_syncs=yes.

Unfortunately I cannot test the suggested solutions anymore though since I already fixed all folders by renaming them (with an automated script to a different name and then back to the original name in correct encoding). Maybe Philip can?
