[Dovecot] using separate authentication based on protocol

Hello,

I wonder if it's possible to use a different query for authenticating 
users against the mysql db based on the protocol used: IMAP or POP3.
This could come handy for not allowing my users who switched to IMAP 
from accidentally getting all their mail through a POP3 connection.
Using dovecot-0.99.10 here.
