[Dovecot] Permission denied but works anyway

Is there anything in Dovecot's log files? Usually errors similar to
these are written there.

Probably the only reason why that could happen without anything being
written to log files is that imap process doesn't have permission to one
of your mailboxes (eg. maybe a leftover core file?).
