[Dovecot] Growing pools and disconnects

Since a couple of hours I see *a lot* of the following messages in my
maillog:

'maildir_uidlist_sync' with: 32768
Feb 17 15:37:35 defiant dovecot: imap(mmaurer at betterbe.com): Growing pool
'maildir_uidlist_sync' with: 65536
Feb 17 15:37:35 defiant dovecot: imap(mmaurer at betterbe.com): Growing pool
'maildir_uidlist_sync' with: 131072

This happens also when viewing small inboxes (but the number being ~1024).

This is dovecot 1.0.beta2, which has been running for about 2 days. Any
indication where this message is coming from? The first day we never saw
this message appearing. Dovecot now also seems to randomly disconnect
people from time to time.

Any insights would be appreciated.
