[Dovecot] Plugin Compatibility

We are looking to develop a plugin against the 1.2.X line (8 as of right now).  Seeing that v2.0 is not too far off, is there any reason to think that a plugin developed for 1.2.X would NOT be compatible with the 2.0 line?Thanks,Tony
