[Dovecot] How can I make dovecot aware of user's email aliases?

Sieve will not reply to mail it doesn't think was sent directly to a user.

I use an SQL auth backend, and a user might login as user1 at domain.com.

What method can I use to inform dovecot that user2 at domain.com is a
forward to user1 at domain.com, such that the vacation auto response will
fire when user2 at domain.com is emailed (therefore, the mail ends up in
user1 at domain.com's mailbox).
