Hi Charles,

Well, I checked the dovecot log files 
(dovecot-info.log / dovecot.log) 
It doesn't show something suspicious.
Just the usual login logout and
password chatter.

At this point, I suspect it's thunderbird
again. I asked the rest of the people how
they are doing and they said they were 
doing fine. So I suspect there's something
wrong with this specific dovecot installation.
