[Dovecot] pop3 and imap don't run

Dear all,

I run dovecot and when i use 
'ps ax |egrep dovecot' command , i get the following result:

 9290 pts/3    S+     0:00 tail -f /var/log/dovecot.err
 9597 ?        Ss     0:00 /opt/dovecot/sbin/dovecot
 9598 ?        S      0:00 dovecot/anvil
 9599 ?        S      0:00 dovecot/log
 9601 ?        S      0:00 dovecot/config
 9606 pts/0    S+     0:00 egrep --color=auto dovecot
///////////////

I dont see any pop or imap process.
