LMTP and Postfix

No need. Assuming that you use a socket, the following combination
should suffice:

  # Dovecot
  service lmtp {
    unix_listener /var/spool/postfix/private/dovecot-lmtp {
      user = postfix
      group = postfix
      mode = 0660
    }
  }

  # Postfix
  mailbox_transport = lmtp:unix:private/dovecot-lmtp
