Dovecot probably has left an extra empty line at the beginning of the mbox file and after that it treats it as invalid. This happens sometimes with 0.99 code, 1.0-tests have much better mbox implementation.

Hi, I'm using version 0.99.10.8 on debian 2.4.26 and am getting this problem, can someone please shed some light over this? [Dovecot] Assertion failed in buffer.c

dovecot-0.99.10.5-0.FC2 I have had a report from a user that when accessing their inbox, the connection is suddenly dropped. Dovecot reports the following:- imap(user): file buffer.c: line 357 (buffer_set_start_pos): assertion failed: (abs_pos <= I_MIN(buf->used, buf->limit)) From searching the list, I found an indication that it is a problem with an individual message. [Dovecot] sig11 with test36/37 on some emails

Sometimes I'll get an email from a luser which will cause the POP3 daemon to sig11. The email "appears" to be legal. The sig11s only happen on specific emails, and once I remove the emails from the server, the rest can be downloaded. I gzipped the email, and its at http://theapt.org/bogusemail.gz. While this example is international spam, the sig11s happen with real emails too. -- Entropy isn't what it used to be.
