Hello, I just download dovecot 1.0b8 and compiled and installed from sources. I`ve installed it on another server, which has the same configuration and it shows the same error messsage. BTW, both servers are DELL PowerEdge 2600, running Conectiva 9 (outdated... but I`m in a production environment and changing is not trivial). thanks in advance for any help. Hello all, I`ve tried to run dovecot many times in my system (Conectiva Linux 9) and was unable to do so. For some reason it gives this message and quits - never runs. My system: Linux ba.gazetaweb.com 2.4.21-28872cl #1 Sex Mar 21 22:02:49 BRT 2003 i686 unknown I`m migrating from UW-IMAPD to dovecot. I've compiled it from sources, using default configurations. Hi I have the same error as Mark. Command output: input in flex scanner failed ) Runig Dovecot 1.0 beta8, postfix 2.3, dovecot-lda 20060513 and flex 2.5.33 on Gentoo It have to do somting with libsieve and flex? [Dovecot] two concurrent dovecots

Hello, Is it safe to have two concurrent dovecot processes to access the same maildir? I have a stock RHEL version (0.99.11) used by users, but I also want to test 1.0-beta together wth postfix for SASL. Is it safe to access the same maildir concurrently with both dovecots (say, the old one via webmail and the new one via remote client)? Thanks, Alex

Dear Dovecot mailing list people - What I'm trying to do is use Postfix (with virtual users) and a POP3 server (we don't want IMAP - don't ask) to work against our new Active Directory servers that will be coming soon. Before we roll anything out we're testing it in the lab. Here's what we've got: x86 server running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 Postfix 2.0.16 Dovecot-1.0 Beta7 Windows 2003 server running Active Directory Windows XP client running Outlook Eventually, we'd like the clients to be joined to the AD domain and that's where we'll store ALL the user information. The email will come in on our postfix server (which uses virtual users) and the clients will check it passing their email username and domain password. The catch is that USERS CAN BE ANYWHERE IN THE DIRECTORY. (I apologize for the caps, I wanted to make sure that phrase wasn't glossed over.) So, for instance: > DC=local | >DC=domain | >OU=group1 | | | > CN=user1 | > CN=user2 | >OU=group2 | | | > CN=user3 | > CN=user4 | >OU=group3 | >CN=user5 The path to user1 is therefore CN=user1,OU=group1,DC=domain,DC=local (at least in the AD world.) The path to user3 is CN=user3,OU=group2,DC=domain,DC=local. So to search for users I would think (because this is how Postfix does it) that I could have the search base as DC=domain,DC=local and then have scope = subtree. IT DOESN'T WORK. (Again, caps used for emphasis only.) Here's the meat of the dovecot-ldap.conf file I'm using: hosts = 192.168.x.x dn = cn=Administrator,cn=Users,DC=domain,DC=local dnpass = xxxxx auth_bind = yes ldap_version = 3 base = DC=domain,DC=local scope = subtree user_attrs = sAMAccountName,mail,,,, user_filter = (&(objectClass=organizationalPerson)(sAMAccountName=%u)) pass_filter = (&(objectClass=organizationalPerson)(sAMAccountName=%u)) user_global_uid = 44 user_global_gid = 44 --- Interestingly, if I simply point the base to the actual user's container, it works just fine. Hi, I'm trying to compile dovecot under Solaris 10 with native Mysql support. Couple changes are needed before configure can detect and compile mysql support. Native Solaris Mysql is installed under /usr/sfw directory. Configure can't find libraries and when these are found -R runtime path is needed for linking. Also if library name is given before library path it can't find it. [Dovecot] Outlook Express / POP Problem?

I have a new user who is using Outlook Express with POP and seems to be having a problem downloading messages with attachments. Watching the logs it starts to download and then disconnects. When I use squirrelmail which is IMAP it all looks good so it's not a corrupt mailbox. I'm running Beta8 and using MBOX files. The problem seems to be related to POP and/or Outlook. Has anyone run into this before?

[Dovecot] Building 1.0beta8 on Solaris

The following patch is needed on Solaris, because <sys/stat.h> has a specific macro definition for struct stat. Without this patch the prototype for nfs_safe_stat() changes between the inclusion of nfs-workarounds.h and the definition of the function. -- Matthieu Herrb
