[Dovecot] LDA sieve logging

Hello, using the cmusieve plugin with the postfix + dovecot-lda. Filtering works, and dovecot logs, but for sieve filtering I see no message in the syslog about performed actions. How do I set this? thanks

[Dovecot] dovecot-smtp connection?

This may be a dumb question, but I'll ask because... :) I've got dovecot installed and running successfully on OpenBSD 3.9 (this *really* was an easy setup, my hat's off to the developer(s)). And the other employees can now use MS Access to read their mail (they didn't like mutt and pine via SSH - go figger'). So my final challenge is to get things configured so that they can also *send* mail through the same host that dovecot is installed on. I *think* this has to be configured in sendmail, but I'm hoping that someone can confirm that before I start reading. Thanks, Jay

[Dovecot] Problem starting the daemon...

I have successfully run dovecot on three out of four of the servers I use. They all run Fedora Core 2 or 4. But when I installed dovecot on a Mandrake server I have using urpmi, I can't start dovecot there. [Dovecot] IMAP issues?

I've probably done something dumb, but a quick search on Google, etc has turned up nothing I recognized as useful. I just installed dovecot on an OpenBSD 3.9 box. It is working fine with secure POP3 (after changing the config file to "mbox_write_locks = fcntl"). I also selected secure IMAP as a protocol, but it is proving to be more resistant to working. I am trying to connect to dovecot using Outlook as a client (sigh). Outlook's error messages are to the effect that it is unable to connect to the server. Looking in /var/log/maillog indicates that a connection was not even attempted! I've configured the client to use SSL (port 993), and tried diddling with some of the other parameters to no avail. I also tried to connect using the Thunderbird IMAP client with similar results. I've obviously missed something in my dovecot setup, but just don't see it... can anyone offer a clue? Thnx, Jay

[Dovecot] Permissions issue in OpenBSD

I jumped right in and followed the "Quick Configuration" guide after installing dovecot (dovecot-1.0.beta3.tgz) on my OpenBSD 3.9 box. I had previously been using akpop3d (which worked, but was flaky). [Dovecot] Multiple attempts to get mail delivered

FreeBSD 6.1 STABLE I am using a basic MBOX mail setup. I have noticed that when the MBOX size starts to grow, say 35-30M or more, Dovecot will not always deliver the mail via POP on the first attempt. In fact, in some cases it takes four or five attempts before it will actually deliver the mail. Is there some setting that I should be changing? [Dovecot] [PATCH] Substitution of dots to ", dc=" in variable expansions

Hi list, my ldap directory uses DNs like this: uid=solist,ou=People,dc=solistland,dc=net,ou=Virtuals but I only could use something like uid=solist,ou=People,dc=solistland.net,ou=Virtuals with dovecot, which obviously isn't what the dcObject object class was meant to present. I've written a small function for var-expand.c which introduces a new modifier for string variable expansions, %D (arbitrarily chosen), which substitutes dots to ",dc=". You might want to include that in dovecot's code base, after bringing it up to dovecot standards of course. :-) Example of use: base = ou=People,dc=%Dd,ou=Virtuals Warning: I'm a beginner in C and could only understand so much of dovecot's code, so this patch is a hack at best. That said, I tested it with more than 10k logins and can say it works for me. :-D Cheers, Antonio

[Dovecot] Maildir++ quota - how to handle a full mailbox

Hello all, We are using Horde/IMP and we are having problems deleting messages from accounts where the user is very close to going over quota. My test environment includes: Horde 3 IMP 4.1.2 dovecot 1.0rc2 postfix maildrop I created a user and set the quota at 13MB. I then sent a 10MB file to the user - which was received. However, when I attempt to move the message from the INBOX to Trash, I get a Quota Exceeded error. Is this more of an IMP error than a dovecot quirk? Is the message size credited back to the quota after the message has been removed from the INBOX? [Dovecot] MySQL table for use with dict et quota

In your "http://wiki.dovecot.org/Quota/Dict" documentation, the table to create is : create table quota ( path varchar(255) not null primary key, username varchar(255) not null, current integer ); "path" field is the primary key. But when i see the SELECT queries, "path" is always used ('quota/storage') and username too. I don't understand... If "path" is the primary key, it must be unique in quota table ? Perhaps the table would be like this : create table quota ( path varchar(255) not null, username varchar(255) not null, current integer, primary key (path, username) ); No ? I start to have a headache... :D 2 days with dovecot quota, and no fully working results :'( Please, help me :) -- Mikaël
