Might actually be usable now. - Index file handling fixes with keywords - Cache file was incorrectly used in some situations, which probably caused problems sometimes. - Maildir++ quota: Don't count "." and ".." directory sizes to quota. After rewriting maildirsize file keep its fd open so that we can later update it. Patch by Alexander Zagrebin

[Dovecot] configure.in bug?

Hello, I have no autotools knowledge but I had to remove square brackets in configure.in shipped with dovecot AC_CONFIG_HEADERS([config.h]) and dovecot-sieve AC_CONFIG_HEADERS([dsieve-config.h]) to be able to build them. thanks

Hi, I need some help I am currently setting up my FC5 box with ldap + samba + postfix + dovecot support as prescribed in howto http://wanderingbarque.com/howtos/mailserver/mailserver.html My problem is in starting the dovecot server. I get the following error Starting Dovecot Imap: Error: Error in configuration file /etc/dovecot.conf line 16: Unknown setting: passdb My dovcot.conf file: protocols = imap pop3 login_dir = /var/run/dovecot/login login_chroot = yes disable_plaintext_auth = no login_user = dovecot first_valid_uid = 101 last_valid_uid = 101 first_valid_gid = 101 last_valid_gid = 101 valid_chroot_dirs =/home/vmail/domains default_mail_env = maildir:/home/vmail/domains/%d/%n auth = default auth_mechanisms = plain auth_userdb = ldap /etc/dovecot-ldap.conf auth_pass = ldap /etc/dovecot-ldap.conf auth_executable = /usr/libexec/dovecot/dovecot-auth auth_user = dovecot-auth It is complaining about the auth_userdb parameter as var as I can see. Can anyone help please.

[Dovecot] 1.0rc3 problem w/ Thunderbird 1.5.0.5 on Mac OS X

Howdy, I'm very excited about the new dovecot release because I've been having problems with a hang on saving messages to my sent-mail box over imap+ssl. I installed 1.0rc3 over my 1.0rc2 install on FreeBSD 5.3 in the same manner as all the other upgrades I've done. [Dovecot] Thunderbird and mbox

Hello all, Does anyone has a workaround for the fact that thunderbird, when used in IMAP with the mbox format, doesn't let the user delete mailboxes : As a matter of fact, only messages can be deleted, since TB tries to move what it wants to delete into the "Trash" box, which would of course mean a sub-box of an mbox mailbox ? -- Thomas Hummel | Institut Pasteur <hummel(a)pasteur.fr> | Pôle informatique - systèmes et réseau

[Dovecot] Question re: .mailboxlist to .subscriptions migration

Hello. I'm in the final stages of installing Dovecot on a new server, and then will be migrating user mailboxes from an older server that was using UW-IMAP. I realize that I will have to rename the ".mailboxlist" file to ".subscriptions". But, I have a question about the "mail/" directory part that appears for most mailboxes in each users .mailboxlist file: since I'm configuring my Dovecot to use multiple hidden namespaces (one of which will include "mail/"), do I still have to remove the "mail/" directory portion of each entry in the subscription file by hand, or will the namespace settings take care of "ignoring" that part of each listed mailbox? [Dovecot] What's the latest on RC2 and Thunderbird

Hi Just been reading a few threads on the sent-mail hang problem on Thunderbird (TB) and dovecot 1.0RC2 I'm getting reports from WinXP SP2 users running TB 1.0.7, server CentOS 4.2 and dovecot 1.0RC2 There were some suggestions: * Set max cached connections to 1 in TB - but this can result in access problems with blocking processes * Upgrading to TB 1.5.0.5 - not guaranteed to work * Downgrading to 1.0beta8 - works? Does anyone have a definitive answer to this problem ?
