Possible Caching Bug showing up as a MIME Boundary Issue I'm using Dovecot version 1.0.0. I was using Dovecot version 1.0.0 beta3 or alpha4. I upgraded to Dovecot 1.0.0 to make sure that was not the issue. Over the past few weeks on a server running a stable dovecot, I have seem a few emails arriving where the MIME document structure dividers are visible. I've included a screenshot showing this. Using OE6 as client. Have tried adding oe6-fetch-no-newmail per clients wiki but this seems to stop the ability to login at all. I am using two different machines with Outlook Express to access the same email. The same problem will show up on both. Usually, if I delete the .imap cache for the folder, the email comes down correctly. [Dovecot] dspam plugin

When I drag n drop spam mail to SPAM folder, I get this error: Jun 11 17:58:46 sparrow dspam[28452]: Unable to open file for reading: /var/spool/dspam/data/local/mymail/mymail.sig/466d652f315451306914567.sig: No such file or directory mymail is user that runs dovecot transport (postfix config). The .sig file exist in /var/spool/dspam/data/<domain>/<user>/<user>.sig/466d652f315451306914567.sig. I've tried to google this problem, but no luck. Any advices? Thanx!

Adding this SHA256 code made me read the BSD license once again. It says: * 2. I think I'd really like to get rid of those base64.c and utc-mktime.c exceptions.. There's probably also an easier/faster way to implement utc_mktime(). Anyway.. Currently these copyrights or acknowledgments aren't listed anywhere else than in the source files. I don't know if binary packagers have added those, but somehow I doubt it. So I think I should add these to COPYING file somehow. Any suggestions? Usage: mail_location = mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/%u protocol imap { mail_plugins = mbox_snarf } protocol pop3 { mail_plugins = mbox_snarf } plugin { mbox_snarf = ~/mbox } If ~/mbox doesn't exist, nothing special is done. If ~/mbox exists, it's treated as INBOX and mails are moved from /var/mail/%u whenever the mailbox is synchronized. If all the messages couldn't be copied, for example because of out of quota, then none of the messages are copied. I suppose that could be a problem. It might be possible to fix that by changing: if (mailbox_copy(dest_trans, mail, 0, NULL, NULL) < 0) { if (!mail->expunged) { ret = -1; break; } } to just: if (mailbox_copy(dest_trans, mail, 0, NULL, NULL) < 0) { if (!mail->expunged) break; } But I'm not sure about that. [Dovecot] [PATCH] Split sql drivers from lib-sql to plugins

Hi, in order to solve rhbz#170960 [1], I split the sql drivers to plugins so that they are loaded dynamically and can be split to separate packages. Hi, About one month ago, I sent a patch to this list to implement warnings when a user is close to reach his quota. I tried to follow Timo's advice to improve my code, and here (at last) is a new patch. Things I did not fix: - This patch is still for dovecot 1.0, as I will need warnings with dovecot 1.0. I may rewrite it for CVS HEAD in the future but can't promise. - I'm still using system() rather than fork()+exec()+waitpid() since I don't know a good time to run waitpid(). Comments are welcome. [Dovecot] Monitoring Recomendations

I have a client that I have installed Dovecot 1.0.1 for is having some performance issues. Especially when using IMAP from various Outlook clients. I have TLS installed and all the IMAP connections are secured. I'm wondering is anyone has any recommendations for monitoring dovecot performance. I'd like to try and nail down where the real performance issues are. I suspect outlook, but I want to eliminate Dovecot as the cause of any problems, or, if I have a problem with Dovecot, I want to identify any issues I can and fix them. [Dovecot] mbox vs maildir

I'm using Dovecot 1.0.1-12 on Linux/Fedora 7 along with sendmail and procmail all running on the same box mail is stored in mbox format It's a small system with a half dozen or so e-mail "accounts". Each with 40-60MB of messages in various folders. I keep seeing messages about how mbox is antiquated and anybody with more than 100 messages etc should not use mbox, but use maildir instead. I'm not entirely convinced.... there seem to be pros and cons for each. Is there a discussion somewhere that really highlights why one format is so much better than the other? The last time I tried to convert from mbox to maildir, things got pretty botched up, no data loss, but it wasn't pretty. :-) Can Dovecot handle mbox for some users and maildir for others? I'd like to try a conversion for one user... I'll probably create a new user, then have procmail copy (via ! action code) all mail for one user to that new user. Thank you
