This is my approach, stored in /etc/cron.hourly. It's very new, so I'm still testing it. The goal is to learn HAM massages only if they are a day old, so that I can manually remove SPAM that slipped through. Mails tagged from Spamassassin are sorted automatically into the "Junk.Spam" mailbox and learned after 12 hours. [Dovecot] Allowing tilde at start of mailbox names

In lib-storage/index/maildir/maildir-storage.c maildir_is_valid_create_name() and maildir_is_valid_existing_name() the following sequence of tests appear but I don't really understand why if ((storage->flags & MAIL_STORAGE_FLAG_FULL_FS_ACCESS) != 0) return TRUE; if (*name == '~' || strchr(name, '/') != NULL) return FALSE; If MAIL_STORAGE_FLAG_FULL_FS_ACCESS is set then the validator funcs return TRUE immediately and code elsewhere will do appropriate home_exapand for mailbox names. However if MAIL_STORAGE_FLAG_FULL_FS_ACCESS is not set the (*name == '~') test prevents mailbox names that begin with '~'. Why is it not possible to have mailbox names that begin with '~' but without '~' carrying any special meaning? I have been working on a patch (appended but incomplete; the option only works against maildir atm) that adds a new option mail_allow_tilde and my admittedly limited testing seems to indicate that it does the right thing but maybe I am barking up the wrong tree. [Dovecot] Quota handling on NFS Maildir

Hi Throughout the v. 1.1 betas I have been receiving casual reports that quota isn't handled correctly (running Maildir). At the moment I'm running 1.1beta14 but this has been occurring in all other 1.1 betas as well (I don't know for sure whether this was also an issue in 1.0, but I think so). In some earlier betas the issue where worse than is is now (due to improved NFS locking I guess). Apparently this occurs when the user shifts between pop3 and IMAP. maildirsize gets updated whenever mails are coming in, no problems there. But mails removed aren't always counted as removed - as a result some users quota keep growing until they reach a limit and e-mails start getting rejected. I have been doing some testing and it appears that the updating of the file maildirsize is sometimes delayed. I figure this is because Dovecot collects theese changes in the transactions or index file and then once in a while writes them to maildirsize. Could there be a week spot in the code somewhere that allow for this kind of error when the use of POP3 and IMAP are mixed (I think this happens even when POP3 and IMAP access aren't concurrent)? Both my index files and mail storage are located on NFS. Please test so we can have a fully stable v1.1.0 release. v1.1.betas are already running in a few large installations, so I don't expect there to be many bugs left. There are no release critical bugs left and no known crash bugs. There are a few issues I'd like to fix before v1.1.0, but I don't expect to have more than 3-5 release candidates this time (certainly much less than 31 anyway..) Changes since beta16: - ioloop defaults now to best one availablable instead of poll - IMAP SEARCH correctness fixes - Fixed proxy_maybe handling with caching and with mysql - IMAP: ENVELOPE's subject field now always has TABs changed to spaces - Some crashfixes

Hi all I've mounted a cluster ACTIVE-PASIVE, with the mailbox in a SAN. The user's home are: /Correo/mail/foo/home I use: Postfix, dovecot and dovecot_lda. The folder /san/mail is only show in the active node (switch the virtual ip, filesystem and daemons). How i configure dovecot mail_location?? Now i have: mail_location: maildir:/Correo/mail/%n The problem is that the admin mails in pasive node are in enqueued and not arrive. I need a user with mail_location in /var/spool/mail/foo (in aliases, root: foo)and the rest users in /Correo/mail/ I have seen override mail_executable, but it not work with dovecot_lda and postfix (local mailer). I've recently upgraded to 1.0.10 in hopes that this problem would go away but no luck. I've got some users at my company with large inboxes on maildir (say 22,000 messages). Their mailboxes are hosted on nfs and dovecot is configured to do dotlocking. I suspect this happens with other users as well but since they have smaller inboxes they don't notice the long delays. Also this is not linked to version 1.0.10, I've been seeing on and off with the previous version (1.0rc17). Here's the 'dovecot -n' output. I should add that the default is for users to use mbox but some users (like the above one) use maildir via a separate dovecot.passwd file. [Dovecot] Index corruption with squirrelmail.

Hi. I don't know if the problem is related with squirrelmail or not, but I started to have index corruption when I started to try squirrelmail. I already deleted dovecot.* files, but the error ocurred again. Any suggestion? Thanks!
