Everything I'm reading says that LMTP is better, but I really do need this header (or one like it) to be there so I know who the original recipient was (for filtering and other purposes). # 2.0.11: /usr/local/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: FreeBSD 8.2-STABLE amd64 Dovecot stops with the following logged: - master: Fatal: kevent(): Invalid argument I have found that a diff was created for "src/lib/ioloop-kqueue.c" for a similar issue: http://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2010-November/054855.html I have patched my system with this and haven't seen the problem since, but I don't know if this is a coincidence. Could you please explain if the diff should actually fix anything or just add some more logging in case it stops again? Best regards Henrik Larsson

Hi all dovecot-virtual: * all when dovecot-acl files restrict some subset of * for a user, does dovecot respect these ACLs when collecting messages for virtual folder? I'd like a confirmation about what I should be seeing when I start implementing this setup.

[Dovecot] Patch: 2.0 support for URLAUTH, BURL, CATENATE

Thank you Timo for beginning the port of URLAUTH, BURL, and CATENATE from 1.2 to 2.0. Attached please find two patches that finish the port to 2.0. One patch updates the dovecot-2.0-urlauth branch and is based on the tip of that branch. The other patch adds the full support to dovecot-2.0.beta5. The resulting URLAUTH/BURL/CATENATE code is the same. Please let me know if you have any questions about these patches. Thanks.

[Dovecot] Sieve vacation not working

I've been trying all night to get vacation working in my .dovecot.sieve file. The way our email works is we have one account on dovecot which serves my mail and my wife's and we use procmail and sieve to put the emails in different folders depending on who it's for. I'm trying to set up a vacation reply on my wife's email address (aaaaaaaa@optus* below) so people can update to her new address. Here's my file with the email addresses masked: require ["fileinto", "vacation"]; if address :is "to" "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx(a)ozemail.com.au" { fileinto "Phill_OzEmail_Folder"; stop; } elsif address :is "to" "yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy(a)optusnet.com.au" { fileinto "Phill_Optus_Folder"; stop; } elsif address :matches "to" "aaaaaaaa@optus*" { vacation "Please update my email address to bbbbbbbbb(a)exemail.com.au"; fileinto "Sarah_Optus_Folder"; stop; } else { keep; stop; } The problem I'm having is that no auto-replies are sent. I removed .dovecot.lda-dupes and that didn't help; so then I touched it and now it's a 0 byte file and that didn't help. There is no dovecot.sieve.err file and I can't see anything in /var/log/dovecot.log which gives any message about why this wouldn't work. The emails to aaaaaaa@optus* get filed into the right folder so I know the matching is working. I've also tried a reject recipe and that worked fine, so I know that it can send an email if it chooses to. So it's a complete black box mystery as to why it just won't send a reply. Regards, Phill

I've been seeing the following wonky behavior with Dovecot. Currently this is with Dovecot 2.0.19, but I was also seeing it in earlier versions as well, including versions from the 1.x series. Some background, this is from Horde's ActiveSync library, when it is trying to determine what UIDs have recently been expunged. I can guarantee that when this command was sent, there was only one or two emails that were removed since the provided MODSEQ value. Timo, would you consider adding support for "IMAP LIST Extension for Special-Use Mailboxes" <http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc6154.txt> any time near in the future? I would really love to get rid of all those folders created by all those different mail clients just because they can't agree to use the same folder for special purpose. Obviously clients need to support it too. [Dovecot] OT: z-Push

Hi, just a short question: I have installed and configured z-Push to use BackendIMAP. On my iPhone I have created an account and I can see my mails. Also sending works. So far so good. Now the question: When I create a new folder i.e. Test under the root (/), then I get an error. And after resyncing the folder has been created not under /, but under /0/Test. Also I can not remove that folder over ActiveSync. Does somebody have z-Push fully working with Dovecot or is z-Push designed for Cyrus and only some features are working with Dovecot?
