Hi all, We use prefix=INBOX. in order to keep things as they were on the old server. Now I started playing with quota and have trouble getting the additional quota for Trash and/or Junk working. My expectation was that once a user is over quota and moves email to trash sh/e should be able to receive new email again. That's what I cannot get to work with our setup. Attached you find the config that I thought should be working. The numbers are ridiculously low but that's just for testing. mail_location hashing & lowercasing?

Need help to compile and install a minimal dovecot imap plugin

I am trying to create a plugin that adds a new IMAP capability. No warnings, no errors, no crashes. How do I debug this? Am I missing something obvious? Does the naming of the plugin matter? S.

Just like to have in case i need to rebuild from source on gentoo, since i change mysql from 5.1 to 5.5 slot i think dovecot need rebuilding

Misleading error message when case-insensitive file/dir names from config files clash with case-sensitive file system.

Hi, Is it noted somewhere that Dovecot (v 2.0.9) doesn’t use case in directory names in its config-files? I found that out the hard way (i.e. a week of debugging)!! in /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-master.conf, the line: unix_listener /var/spool/postOut/auth/dovecot-auth { creates a: Jul 29 22:15:58 server dovecot: master: Error: service(auth): unlink(/var/run/dovecot/) failed: Is a directory but unix_listener /var/spool/postout/auth/dovecot-auth { works just fine (with matching case changes on the directory names themselves). That’s on running on Ubuntu 12.04.4 TLS, standard installation from apt-get, in cooperation with Postfix 2.0.9. — Hugo

Dsync setup... help needed

Hello, I tried to implement Dsync (doveadm version 2.2.10) following https://www.evilcoder.org/2014/08/22/automatic-replication-with-dovecot/ but had no luck. SSH commands working quite well, but I need to respond more quickly. So TCP looks promising. I have Centos 6, Dovecot 2.2.10. I did everything that is written there, but after I restart dovecot doesn't sync. Then i ran netstat command but no service listen to port 12345 also. Iptables service are of in testing scenario...

Hi, i want to migrate the following setup: postfix / courier-{imap/s,pop3/s,authlib} / maildrop / mysql I´m using the maildir format and quotas as well. My problem is the LDA, with dovecot-lda im having the uid / gid trouble and i really dont want to suid oder sudo it. dovecot-lmtp just gives me status=deferred (host xx.xx[/var/run/dovecot/lmtp] said: 451 4.3.0 <box(a)xx.xx> Temporary internal error (in reply to end of DATA command)) Postfix virtual is working as well as maildrop, but no dovecot-implementation wants to, i also didnt find anything about the error above, except a bug in v2.2.2 and a google groups thread where users are just blaming each others for nothing .. I want to use a dovecot lda/lmtp because the quota settings for trash-folders are very nice and reducing my support times but im stuck at getting one of the dovecot-LDAs to work. Multiple A Records for IMAP service

Hello All, I have a quick question. I have 2 MX servers each with a Dovecot Instances (2.2.6). These 2 Dovecot Instances are replicated by using Dsync... All works well. The questions is, Can I have 2 A records for my imap.mydomain.tld? The Idea being, if for any reason, one of the Dovecot IMAP instances are unreachable, the client can connect to the other Instance. (this is purely a fail over scenario). If it matters, The clients are Thunderbird, Android Native (default) Mail client, iOS Mail Client. -Thanks in advance Vijay

Documentation for /usr/lib/dovecot/imap executable

Dear Dovecot experts, I'm in the process of setting up dovecot with mbsync as a local cache for remote IMAP servers. One recipe that I found involves using the /usr/lib/dovecot/imap (This is with Debian's dovecot package). For example, in .mbsyncrc I have IMAPAccount cwg-wf-local RequireSSL no Tunnel "/usr/lib/dovecot/imap -o mail_location=maildir:/home/cwg/.mail/cwg-wf" This works, but I wonder: is there any documentation for the /usr/lib/dovecot/imap executable? What options does it take? If there's no documentation: where can I find this command in dovecot's sources? Thank you, Christoph
