Compiling problem on Debian Jessie with dovecot-2-2-32.rc1

I cant' do ./configure && make && make install on a Debian Jessie. Failback mailboxes?

Hi! Have been using Fedora as my dovecot server for some time and am struggling with systemd at every update. Fedora insists on setting ProtectSystem=full in both dovecot.service and postfix.service at every update of the packages. This makes my mailstore which is in /usr/local/var/mail Read-only. And this makes the incoming emails delivered through dovecot-lda disappear into /dev/null until I notice the problem and we lose incoming emails. My question is: Is there any way to set up a failback mailstore for these occasions? PS! I really hate systemd - Destroys the UNIX way of doing things with a heavy axe.... Best Dag

Question about mail_location

In using mysql, in the configuration file we need to specify, in the user query, '/path/ as home, yet but in dovecot.conf, we also are setting mail_location, the same thing is it not, so unless I've missed something, do we still need to use the path as home in the user query? Do we only need set that if it differs from mail_location? Thanks

I'm trying to migrate from Centos 6/dovecot 2.1.17/mysql to new server on Centos 7/dovecot 2.2.31 (65cde28)/mariadb I've dumped on oldserver 'dovecot.conf' and used it on newserver doveconf -n > dovecot.conf also, transferred /etc/doveconf/*.conf I've also dumped MySQL 'vmail' and imported database, created user vmail, vmailadmin dumb question: should the password hash from oldserver work 'as is' on newserver..? (different machine, different SQL..) To use it, set auth_stats=yes mail_plugins = $mail_plugins stats stats_carbon_server = 94.237.81.63 # or stats_carbon_server = [2a04:3542:1000:910:acc1:5bff:fe5e:8c2] stats_carbon_name = some-fancy-identifier-without-a-dot plugin { stats_refresh = 30s } And your server should become listed once someone logs in. Note that it will only work from backends today, it will not work from proxies or directors. This service is provided for free, and we might add or remove metrics from it. Please do not spam it (keep refresh and stats_carbon_interval *AT LEAST* 30 seconds). Also note that since this is a public service, all stats are viewable by anyone. Mailbox Alias

Hello, I have dovecot with Outlook and Roundcube in the employment and with me the Mailboxaliase does not work. The folders are still different and each client creates its own. I thought that the aliases then fell away. Hi, I’m using several views like this: # cat Dovecot/dovecot-virtual :public/Archive/Mailing-Lists/Dovecot/* :public/Mailing-Lists/Dovecot all Before the recent changes read mail stayed in sync with the virtual folder. Now regardless whether mail is read in the original Folder or the virtual Folder, the flags are not synchronized anymore. Read mail is flagged unread in the corresponding folder. Regards Thomas
