I've just set up dovecot-2.3.20-1.fc37.x86_64 on fedora37 and unable to receive mail. The main config was copied over from another dovecot system on fedora37 with virtually identical settings, including the same SSL cert. I saw that the notice was added to the dovecot/documentation Git repository in April 2023, but I couldn’t find any further information there or the main branch of the dovecot/core repository. Maybe, the code for 2.4 / 3.0 has not made it into that branch or repository yet. SIS sounds like a neat concept and I would like to use it, but obviously I do not want to use a soon-to-be-deprecated feature in a completely new deployment. So, does anybody know an alternative solution for attachment deduplication (except file-system level deduplication)? Thanks, Sebastian

Hi, I notice that quota domain when using args %d in dictionary isn't honored in mysql during updates and selects when using dovecot 2.3.17+, so I moved my tests to docker environment, because I started using alpine linux and thought it could be musl library problem. I tested few versions with debian/alpine and after 2.3.17 updates and selects for domain in sql not using domain part, but user@domain. Maybe I missed some changes in configuration, maybe someone experience this behavior? User in logs was changed to h.user(a)example.com. Hi all, dovecot auth service is failing when using an inet_service. The configuration is essentially: service auth { inet_listener { address = * port = 12345 } unix_listener auth-userdb { group = vmail mode = 0666 user = vmail } } When I connect to port 12345 (real IMAP client or telnet doesn't make a difference), the auth service crashes. I'm using dovecot 2.3.13, solr 8.x. and roundcube 1.5.1. However when I do a search I get the the Error: fts_solr: received invalid uid, search results are ok. Thanks

I try to setup for our mailserver (in a dc) a job backup to a secondary server (in our office) with "doveadm backup" via the -R option. This a very old account on our server which was migrated over different iterations of our dovecot mailserver. The user behind the account uses outlook over years. Is the space here a problem? Is this perhaps the issue for this message? On the filesystem the folder has the name ".Entw&APw-rfe" and also other users has similar folders in their mailboxes. The source server has dovecot version 2.2.36 (centos 7.9.2009) and the current destination server dovecot version 2.3.16 (ubuntu 22.04 lts)

Question about line length limit in lmtp.

I have postfix + dovecot server. Mail for local users are saved by dovecot lmtp. Recently I got some messages from postfix: --8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8--- 4NQ07L4h4LztXXr: breaking line > 998 bytes with <CR><LF>SPAC --8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8--- This is because postfix has configured with default value lmtp_line_length_limit (990).
