Dovecot undeleteable folder?

Hi Liste We are and ISP and use Dovecot. From time to time, we have customer reporting not being able to delete IMAP folder they have created. This often seems to happen when some email client is creating temporary folder on some move or copy operations. Permissions look right. I can't figure out, what goes wrong, but I can reproduce via telnet by manually issuing IMAP commands. To me it looks like Dovecot forgets about what folders exist. Is there some caching of the folder information? Is there a way to enable some debug logging of folder creation and deletion? Example: Customer has a Folder named: ARCHIV.AdministrationXXX Folder file exists and permissions look right: ./ARCHIV/AdministrationXXX d delete ARCHIV.AdministrationXXX d OK Delete completed (0.001 + 0.000 secs). Folder file is still present and can not be deleted again. Re-Connecting with a client lists the folder as present despite having been deleted. It's sort of a Schrödinger Folder. It is there but it's also not there. c create ARCHIV.AdministrationXXX c OK Create completed (0.007 + 0.000 + 0.006 secs). d delete ARCHIV.AdministrationXXX d OK Delete completed (0.006 + 0.000 + 0.005 secs). Now the Folder File is gone, showing the permissions were correct. I can do this corrective action via telnet. But most mail clients will refuse to create a Folder with the same name as an existing one. What could cause that issue and how I could try to further debug the issue? hello I encountered the following issue while compiling Dovecot on a Linux system with the Shenwei architecture in China using RPM: During the build phase, it shows: Copy Code checking whether fd passing works... no configure: error: fd passing is required for Dovecot to work The version of Dovecot I am compiling is 2.3.16, and the version of the GCC tool is 8.5.0. dsync with vurtial folder leads to mess of msg ID

Greetings, I have a setup with two dovecot servers and dsync replication between them. On both of them I have a virtual folders, forexample All with config: mx1# cat /etc/dovecot/virtual/All/dovecot-virtual * -Trash -Trash/* -Junk -Junk/* all All virtual folders are excluded from replication because it leads to broken replication with errors like: virtual.All can't be created. So, I have. replication_dsync_parameters = -d -l 30 -U -x virtual. Unfortently, after a couple of weeks I've noticed that msg id for the same message on the different servers aren't match. trigger/event on mailbox create / acl create possible?

I was wondering if it is possible to execute some trigger after a mailbox is being shared so the user is automatically subscribed to it?

I am trying to modify the body of message with a global sieve script. It looks like that sieve-test does not generate this error, however I am not really able to verify the output. bug dir copy group permissions?

I am not sure if this page is correct, looks at least like this g+s not ok https://doc.dovecot.org/2.3/admin_manual/filesystem_permission/ work-around is to manually create dirs mdbox mdbox/storage mdbox/mailboxes. this seems to show doveadm mailbox list -u usertest6 Trash Sent NotSpam Drafts Junk Shared UserShares UserShares/usertest UserShares/usertest/sharedtest3 UserShares/usertest/sharedtest1 UserShares/usertest/sharedtest2 INBOX But thunderbird / roundcube show nothing. Any idea's why?
