[Dovecot] Quotas from LDAP

Hi all! I have been reading http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Quota/Configuration over and over for the last two days, but something totally escapes my brain right now: How does user_attrs = homeDirectory=home,quotaBytes=quota_rule=*:bytes=%$ get the quota from LDAP into dovecot? What are the LDAP attributes used and what does %$ mean? It is not in the variable list at http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Variables I am feeling very stupid and dense right now, as I am absolutely sure I am missing something very obvious and totally simple. Hi, We set up a new mail server and moved users' "cur,new and tmp" folders only into new mail server from old server.In other words we did not copy and paste dovecot.index,dovecot-uidlist,etc into new server from old server because they were created automatically.After bringing the new server up,users(microsoft office outlook) complained their imap folders are missing.I investigated and found below information; I can see those missing imap folders in old server under 'dovecot-uidlist' as follows; [root@mail ~]# vi /var/vmail/abc.com.au/kerrie/ .Deleted Items/ dovecot.index dovecot.index.cache dovecot.index.log dovecot.index.log.2 dovecot-uidlist .INBOX.Air &- Gas/ .INBOX.Amex/ .INBOX.Caltex Starcard/ .INBOX.Creditors NSW/ .INBOX.Creditors NSW.Statements and Invoices/ .INBOX.Creditors QLD/ .INBOX.Creditors QLD.Invoices and Statements/ .INBOX.Debtors/ .INBOX.Export/ .INBOX.Followmont Transport/ .INBOX.Gameco New Zealand/.Junk E-mail/ But in new server,'dovecot-uidlist' is not containing those folders. Unfortunately the lack of debug symbols doesn't make this very useful. > No core generated, no relevant log info in /var/log/maillog. What can I do to make a better bug report? Compile Dovecot without stripping out debug symbols (this is the default).

I have followed the instructions about bug reports /generating cores located at http://dovecot.org/bugreport.html . I'm getting closer, now with SMTP permitted to whole of Internet to connect to my SMTP/postfix server & for my postfix server to connect out to public Internet on tcp 25 as well. [Dovecot] [Q] A mix-up between /%d/%u/ and /%d/%n for virtual users

Hi there, I have noticed I misconfigured a dovect 1.2.n server with virtual email. Mistakingly, I used /%d/%u/ for mail_location, but /%d/%n userdb: mail_location: maildir:/var/vmail/%d/%u/ userdb: driver: static args: uid=5000 gid=5000 home=/var/vmail/%d/%n allow_all_users=yes As a result I have maildirs being created for both (e.g): /var/vmail/bigdomain.com/dirk(a)bigdomain.com /var/vmail/bigdomain.com/dirk The actual email is placed in /var/vmail/bigdomain.com/dirk(a)bigdomain.com, which I am happy with. I would liek to tidy up the configuration so that these extra maildirs are not created, without breaking everything. Would someone recommend what the best steps are? (other than reinstalling and starting from scratch - Its in production). Hello, I need some guidance with setting up a public namespace with per-user \Seen flags. What I want to do is that a group of users access the public namespaces and if user A reads a message, user B should still see it as new until he reads it himself. This is not happening now, and I can't figure out why. [Dovecot] imap-login ESTABLISHED client sessions not timed out by server

Good morning everyone, I noticed some mobile client connections that I know should have timed out at least 20 mins ago, yet these are still there. The device in question lost its 3G connection and never re-established it. I know, because in this case it was my 'phone ;) Why should the imap-login keep the copnnection in in EST, when it was dropped ages ago. I imagine that the mobile client did not correctly close down the session, but it should have timed out on the server. Any ideas?
