Hello, I am having this error message on some rare emails with more than 6 mb or so. Neither the dovecot server nor the filesystem where the maildir resides have any quota or are full at the time of delivering. The mails goes getmail->postfix->dovecot delivery agent Is the mail written to any other place than the maildir folder? Even though all my temp folders should also be able to hold some megabytes... [Dovecot] New mailbox & autocreate

Hi, First of all BIG THANKS for great piece of software. I have a small problem with autocreate. My mails are stored in: /var/mail Ex. /var/mail/test(a)test.pl/Maildir Account information comes from DB. So when new account appears in DB full path including home dir is created. But there is one small problem: Group always is "wheel". Autocreating ignores gid from DB and uses the group of the parent directory - in this case /var/mail. But when I create home dir manualy (setting right group) group of autocreated Maildir is OK. Is it possible to configure dovecot to set group from DB. Regards, Bambero

I'm running dovecot 1.0.7 on CentOS 5.5, and I've configured it to work with PostfixAdmin (http://sourceforge.net/projects/postfixadmin/) Everything seems to work great, except for one problem. Will it impact performance, or can it be safely ignored? 2) If it is something that should be addressed, do you think I would be better off trying to patch and recompile the 1.0.7 version, or just upgrading to a newer version of Dovecot (keeping in mind that 1.0.7 seems to be the latest available in CentOS repositories) Thank you for your time, and your outstanding software. -Brendan

Thanks for the information. I'm not trying to waste your time, and I wasn't really asking for 'help' per se, as much as simply a clear answer about whether that error was even worth worrying about. I'm well aware that 1.0.7 is a pretty old release, and you don't have much control over what the distro maintainers choose to package. Generally speaking, I think there are advantages (not introducing incompatibility with other software, simple dependency resolution, automatic security updates, etc.) to sticking with repo versions, unless you have a compelling reason to do otherwise.
