Dovecot 2.3.13 virtual mailboxes subscription problem

Hi, by discussion on IRC channel is post details here. I am using virtual plugin in dovecot 2.3.13 and i have porblems with subsription to these virtual mailboxes. I can setup autosubscribe to them and it works as expected. I can SUBSCRIBE to them, dovecot returns OK and they are added in subscriptions file, but then they are not shown in LSUB output. I can UNSUBSCRIBE from subscribed virtual mailbox (dovecot returns OK), but it is not removed from subscriptions file and remains there... I bother with this for long time. I tried to setup mailboxes without UTF-8 chars, but that doesn't matter nad currently problematic mailbox has not any nonASCII char (Virtual.Dnes). I tried to define mailboxes in parent namespace too, doesn't help, nor defining only Virtual in parent namespace (with and without separator at end). Some evidence follows. What is the current state of High Availability Dovecot ?

… without going to too much fuss ? Searching the Internet produces a lot of old results and many overly complicated results. My only complication is that I am using PostfixAdmin for mailbox management, and all the mailboxes are virtual. Thanks.

Hello, I have the problem with aliases. The emails did not delivery to correct email. I send email to email: to_alias(a)domain.com that is valid alias and email should be sent to real email folder: to(a)domain.com. Dovecot creating to_alias folder and deliver the emails there. Hi is possible authentication by ip address in dovecot? What i need. Now auth is by PAM (Active directory), i want application password (its plugin to Roundcube, passwords in mysql) for example android email client. I know that Multiple Authentication Databases work but i want when user auth from public network use sql and when from internal network use both sql and then pam. thanks for help Bukowski

Unable to write *.sieve files while Dovecot is running

I noticed lately that I can no longer modify *.sieve files while Dovecot is running. Write operations appear not to be permitted anymore: $ echo >> example.sieve zsh: permission denied: example.sieve Text editors like vim cannot write either. Since I used to be able to modify Sieve source files on the fly, I am wondering if the behaviour I see nowadays is intentional? Problem with initial sync on new mailbox in a replicated setup

Hello, I run a two-node replicated setup with director + dovecot and replication between the two nodes. The setup is a couple of years old and has been working properly until recently, so I suspect some type of regression. I'm having an issue with replication and merging of newly created mailboxes. Old mailboxes work properly. When creating a new mailbox, the two nodes will not replicate and sync the new mailbox. I have to manually "merge" the mailbox via a "doveadm sync -1f..." command, after which all works properly. This has not been the case in the past, so I'm trying to debug the issue. I was wondering if there is some way to force an imap client to 're-download' all the messages from the inbox. I can remember in the 'old days' that when the connection was dropped during a pop download, the whole inbox was re-downloaded, resulting in quite a lot of duplicates. I am looking for such action.

macOS ManageSieve client?

I have a dovecot & dovecot-sieve running under MacPorts on my macOS ’server’. I do a very low tech maintenance on sieve, by using the cli on the server and edit sieve by hand for myself. I’d like to open this up to other users. How do people use this from their macOS clients? For this, the ManageSieve protocol exists and this is implemented by dovecot-sieve, but other than installing roundcube and offering a web-based mail client that also supports ManageSieve, is there another way? A ManageSieve client that directly runs on the macOS client and interfaces with dovecot-sieve on the server? After all, routing mail to different mailboxes better happens server-side so that all clients profit. With dovecot sieve, I understand that duplicate option remove these emails but I don't understand the configuration to apply. Hello, I have the problem with aliases. The emails did not delivery to correct email. I send email to email: to_alias(a)domain.com that is valid alias and email should be sent to real email folder: to(a)domain.com. Dovecot creating to_alias folder and deliver the emails there.
