It probably won't have many released left. + dovecot -n/-a now outputs also lda settings. - Maildir++ quota: Quota was sometimes updated wrong when it was being recalculated. - Searching quoted-printable message body internally converted "_" characters to spaces and didn't match search keys with "_". - Messages in year's first/last day may have had broken timezones with OSes not having struct tm->tm_gmtoff (e.g. Solaris).

[Dovecot] Funky quota things

Hi guys, I already use Dovecot for imap/pop3 with some simple quota options. I'm starting to look at the switch from maildrop to dovecot lda and I'm wondering whether it's possible to do our unusual quota management with the quota plugin. We have the users total quota in MySQL along with a number of grace days (counts up to 7). The amount of space used is stored in maildirsize in the users maildir. What we currently some bits of voodoo which allow the user to go up to 200% of their quota. When they go over 100% they start receiving warnings and their grace days start counting down. If the account is still using over 100% of quota after the 7 days then the 100% quota is enforced so no new mail will be accepted. So is something like this "burst" quota possible in the Dovecot plugin? Thanks Guy -- Don't just do something...sit there!

Hello, we found dovecot down on one of our servers, with this error in the log: dovecot: 2009-07-14 04:05:04 Warning: SIGHUP received - reloading configuration dovecot: 2009-07-14 04:05:04 Error: Temporary failure in creating login processes, slowing down for now dovecot: 2009-07-14 04:05:04 Fatal: listen(143) failed: Interrupted system call we can reproduce this error with this tight loop: while date ; do kill -HUP $(cat /var/run/dovecot/master.pid) ; sleep 15s ; done after a while dovecot dies with the above error message. We are using # dovecot --version 1.0.15 in particular, Debian package with version "1:1.0.15-2.3" . This started since yesterday, when we upgraded to the latest Debian Lenny point release. The situation is rather problematic, and we'd like to here from you if there something we can do to fix it; if there's something you'd like us to do, just ask :) Thanks in advance, Sandro

[Dovecot] Sylpheed-claws and virtual mailboxes

Hi! Has someone encountered the following problem? What am I doing wrong or does someone know a workaround? Dovecot 1.2.1 on Debian unstable, two namespaces: namespace private { prefix = location = maildir:~/res/Maildir:LAYOUT=fs inbox = yes list = yes } namespace private { prefix = gtd/ separator = / list = yes location = virtual:~/res/Maildir/gtd:LAYOUT=fs:INBOX=~/res/Maildir/gtd } The problem: cur, tmp, new maildir folders get created within the folder gtd when it is opened by Sylpheed-claws (3.7.1). Subfolders in gtd holding the dovecot-virtual files are not recognised as mail folders at all, they show up but do nothing. Other clients (I have tested thunderbird, evolution) work as expected: they show the folder gtd and the sub-folders perform searches. Thanks in advance, tb

[Dovecot] Problems with ioloop on MacOS
