Hi, I recently installed an IMAP server with dovecot and the dovecot antispam plugin with dspam backend. If I configure dspam to not include the signature in the X-DSPAM-Signature header will I be able to move mail into SPAM folder? Regards, Isabel

Hi there, I'm working on converting my server from using bincimap to dovecot. I seem to be having some trouble with folders, however. Any thoughts? Also, I'm using SQL for authentication. Is there a limitation to the characters allowed in the password? I've finally read and answered most of the mails on this list. If you haven't received an answer to your question, resend it. There are a couple of tricky mbox issues left, but I'm not sure if I can do anything about them unless someone can show me how to reproduce the problems. There are quite a lot of new features in v1.1.2 actually. Most of them are in plugins so hopefully they shouldn't destabilize anything. Anyway I tought I'd just in case put out a quick release candidate so at least a few people could try it. I'll probably make the final v1.1.2 release in a day or two. So, please test: http://dovecot.org/tmp/dovecot-1.1.2-rc.tar.gz Largest changes since v1.1.1 are: + Added full text search indexing support for Apache Lucene Solr server: http://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/FTS/Solr + IMAP SORT: Added X-SCORE sort key for use with Solr searches. + zlib plugin supports now bzip2 also. + quota: All backends now take noenforcing parameter. + Maildir: Add ,S=<size> to maildir filename whenever quota plugin is loaded, even when not using Maildir++ quota. + deliver: Allow lda section to override plugin settings. + deliver: Giving a -m <namespace prefix> parameter now silently saves the mail to INBOX. This is useful for e.g. -m INBOX/${extension} + Added a new maildirlock utility for write-locking Dovecot Maildir. + dict-sql: Support non-MySQL databases by assuming they implement the "INSERT .. Hi! I'm currently setting up my first mailsystem based on dovecot. For a far way, working with dovecot was very convenient, but after I had to integrate deliver, it became massivly painful. My components are postfix as MTA, postgresql as user database and dovecot as IMAP server. The database seems to reveil the username correctly, but after that, deliver continues to use the original mail adresse, not the account name returned by the auth master. Any idea, where my solution went the wrong way? The uid/gid belong to vmail:vmail, which is used for the auth-master, as well as for running deliver and to dispatch the postfix messages. Btw., I ask myself, how dovecot can assume to use prefetch in this case, as prefetch bases upon the password query, which has to fail in this case, as there is no password. Hi, $ dovecot --build-options Build options: ioloop=epoll notify=inotify Mail storages: maildir SQL drivers: Passdb: checkpassword Userdb: checkpassword prefetch Isn't "checkpassword" misplaced in the userdb list? For me it seems that USERDB_CHECKPASSWORD is only used in configure and for printing the build-options. Additionally checkpassword protocol does not makes any sense for a userdb. It could be used only for passdb plus prefetching userdb. Therefore I suggest to remove USERDB_CHECKPASSWORD to make this more obvious althought this is only cosmetic. [Dovecot] Problem authenticating iPod Touch

Given the (slightly edited) config info below, iPod Touch users are unable to connect, leaving the following message in the log file: dovecot: Jul 23 10:00:40 Info: imap-login: Disconnected (auth failed, 0 attempts): rip=1.2.3.4, lip=5.6.7.8, TLS handshaking: Disconnected Even with maximum logging on, no other error messages seem related to this problem. Am I missing something simple I didn't catch in the list archives? Or is it more likely a problem on the iPod side? [Dovecot] \HasNoChildren versus \Noinferiors in ACL plugin and no CREATE permission

Hi, using ACL plugin with dovecot 1.1.1 I expected that a Maildir was listed as * LIST (\NoInferiors) "/" "Foldername" if "create" (k) permission is not set in ACLs and there doesn't exists any subfolders. But to my surprise, dovecot gives the following output: * LIST (\HasNoChildren) "/" "Foldername" Therefore the client (here: SquirrelMail) does not know about the inability to create subfolders and offers "Foldername" in the selection for the parent folder. If there are exists already subfolders of "Foldername", dovecot has to use \HasChildren and not \NoInferiors. But in other cases \NoInferiors should be the correct answer and not \HasNoChildren. Or am I totally wrong? [Dovecot] Mailbox_module_context question

Hi, I am new to the dovecot source and would like to know why the mailbox_module_context has a pointer to the mail_storage_module_register and not to a mailbox_module_register. From what I have understood, if a context is first added to the mailbox.module_contexts array using the mail_storage_module_register and then a context is added to the mail_storage.module_contexts and then a third context is again added to the mailbox.module_contexts the mail_storage_module_register.id will be 3 and the second element in the mailbox.module_context will be unused and the first and third elements of the mail_storage.module_contexts are unused. There might be something I am not understanding here so please forgive me if my question has an obvious answer. Daniel
