[Dovecot] fallback for proxy?

Is it possible somehow to configure a fallback for a failed proxy? I am using sql based proxying through dovecot, but it would be nice if you can fallback to another host if the proxy destination server is down. High availability and all.. Regards, Cor

[Dovecot] More core dump stack traces

Hi all, I found a whole bunch of core files from imap this evening, so here are the stack traces from each. Unlike my last message, I don't have debugging symbols for these, so there isn't any analysis I can easily do. There were several cores with the first stack trace and one with the second trace. The core dump for the second trace is the only one I noticed. I suspect that the first trace happens when the client host goes to sleep. If so, the situation needs to be handled more gracefully. I'm currently building a copy of imap with debugging symbols. Possible Caching Bug showing up as a MIME Boundary Issue I'm using Dovecot version 1.0.0. I was using Dovecot version 1.0.0 beta3 or alpha4. I upgraded to Dovecot 1.0.0 to make sure that was not the issue. Over the past few weeks on a server running a stable dovecot, I have seem a few emails arriving where the MIME document structure dividers are visible. I've included a screenshot showing this. Using OE6 as client. Have tried adding oe6-fetch-no-newmail per clients wiki but this seems to stop the ability to login at all. I am using two different machines with Outlook Express to access the same email. The same problem will show up on both. Usually, if I delete the .imap cache for the folder, the email comes down correctly. [Dovecot] trouble deleting folders that only contain folders

Hi, I'm using dovecot 1.0.5 with mbox storage. Users can't delete folders that are created to 'only hold other folders'. I can create these folders with no problem. They are directories in the file system. Normal folders (which are mbox files) are deleted with no problem. I've tried with both squirrelmail and Thunderbird, and what happens when a delete is requested, is that all files within the folder's dir tree are deleted and the client is unsubscribed, but the directory tree remains. [Dovecot] 1.1b3 and Maildir quota

I upgraded a 1.0 install to 1.1b3. Almost everything is working peachy-keen :) It seems faster to me, Offline Folders and 'new mail' options for Thunderbird are now working, and Mail.App doesn't seem to need the extra namespace. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to read my quotas any longer. I went through the docs, and I see the quota plugin has changed, but there doesn't seem to be a needed configuration change. Did I miss something? [Dovecot] quota problems - which Dovecot version ?

Hi, I've got a little problem with Dovecot IMAP. Everything works nice ( pam auth, ldap userdb, and so on ) BUT i need to uses quotas and it doesn't seem to work. I tried both ways : 1) user dovecot-ldap.conf with user_attrs, as it's shown on dovecot wiki ; 2) use the commandes "plugin {.........." in dovecot.conf But it didn't work. Strangely, when i try to use the PLUGIN command in dovecot.conf, the server crashes at start, "syntax error" in config.... I'm not sure if the quotas are supported in my Dovecot version : version : 0.99.14 release : 1.EL4 I'm using an old AlphaServer ( dec ) with Centos 4.2 installed, and it's a real mess to get yum updates. Building from sources neither worked.... Please help !!! Regards Y.V.

On startup of dovecot 1.1b2 I seem to have some permission trouble. [Dovecot] Duplicate message

I'm running dovecot on my desktop and using kmail as a client on my laptop. I am very happy with this - I was previously running kmail under NFS, and this is infinitely better. There is one small issue, which is not very important. I get a small number of messages apparently duplicated. This doesn't really matter, as there is a facility Folder=>Remove Duplicate Messages under kmail, and this deals with the issue easily enough. I just wondered though why I get the duplicate messages, and if there is some simple way to avoid them?

I am moving some messages from an IMAP account to another.
