[Dovecot] Setting retention policies

I access e-mail from different PCs, typically using Thunderbird e-mail client. Thunderbird has a a "retention policy" it can set on a folder by folder basis. Policies such as how long to keep messages for, or how many messages to keep. Is there a way to set those policies on the server itself? Thank you

[Dovecot] Quota from passdb sql

Hello folks! Is it possible to retrieve quota information from a passdb sql lookup and using static userdb? I've tried here without success, and I can't find in the wiki or forum. Some ways I configured dovecot-sql.conf: 1) password_query = SELECT email AS user, CONCAT('maildir:storage=',quota) AS quota, password FROM users WHERE email = '%u' 2) password_query = SELECT email AS user, CONCAT('maildir:storage=',quota) AS userdb_quota, password FROM users WHERE email = '%u' With userdb sql things worked perfect, but as I can use static userdb I just need quota information per user from passwd sql. Hey everyone, Currently where I work we use qmail. Every time a message is delivered, qmail seems to walk through the user's entire maildir in order to calculate quota usage. Delivering messages simultaneously to just a few users who are allowed large maildirs (1-2GB) will bring our servers to their knees. Which brings me to dovecot. I use dovecot whereever I can, but haven't yet needed to set up quotas. I would like to migrate my servers at work to use dovecot, but have a few questions regarding quotas. Could someone explain how dovecot calculates quota usage on mail delivery? Also, is there anyone here on the list that uses quoatas on large maildirs (>=2GB)? How well has it worked for you? thanks, Scott

[Dovecot] LIST % not returning correct data?

Hi list, I have namespace private { prefix = INBOX. separator = . inbox = yes } in an installation migrated from courier. I am testing with Outlook Mobile 5 (OM) which uses 'LIST "" %' to get the folder list. Now courier used to return * LIST (\HasChildren) "." "INBOX" whereas dovecot returns * LIST (\HasNoChildren) "." "INBOX" which is why OM failes to display any folder. Is this dovecot's failure or am I missing something here? Hello, I'm new on this mailing list. I run a Dovecot imaps server since several month on a Debian server. I just upgrade a Debian server from Debian Sarge --> Etch and I discover that a lot of parameters have changed (must be changed) in the dovecot.conf. I finally find an exemple an try to adapt it to our server. We never defined special authentification or password scheme. It was simple the "passwd".
