Hello, So, I'm migrating from Binc to Dovecot, and one of my users has run into an odd complaint/issue. I don't know that it's a Dovecot issue necessarily, but maybe the people here know a fix anyway... The problem is that pine tab-completion now appends a "." to the end of folders that have sub-folders. In other words, say the user has these folders: INBOX INBOX.foo INBOX.foo.bar When he types in INBOX.f and hits tab, for some reason Pine completes that to: INBOX.foo. Note the "." on the end. This is annoying, because then to get into foo he has to hit the delete key first. With the Binc server, the delimiter was /, and INBOX/foo/ was a perfectly legitimate folder name (so he could just hit return). [Dovecot] logging volumes

Hello! I’m in the process of migrating from BincIMAP to Dovecot, and I have a minor question. One of the things that Binc does is logs how many bytes of data it has sent as part of logging the log-out. Dovecot successfully reads the LDAP attributes for the user dvtest, however, the LDAP bind fails with "invalid credentials", yet, dvtest was allowed to login. The reason is simple: When I was testing the LDAP bind stuff, I "commented out" the user dvtest in /etc/passwd, but not in "/etc/shadow" and intentionally used another password in LDAP. Dovecot is configured to consult userdb/passdb ldap, first, then pam. In my case, the LDAP bind failed, so Dovecot fall back to pam - just as configured. I would like suggest to log wich passdb / userdb Dovecot gathered the information from, because, at first, I interpreted the log file as if Dovecot allows an user to login, who is not authentificated. Hi., I am trying to configure Virtual Users. Whenever I use: "virtual_transport = dovecot" I get: deliver(user_at_domain): net_connect(/usr/local/var/run/dovecot/auth-master) failed: No such file or directory But it works when I use: "virtual_transport = virtual" What am I doing wrong? Thank you !

[Dovecot] Vexim with LDA delivery

No support help needed, just a success report having Dovecot integrate with Vexim (exim with web based frontend and sql db): http://silverwraith.com/vexim/ Just wanted to forward some configs to the list if anyone finds them useful. I just switched from vexim's normal "virtual_delivery" to "dovecot_virtual_delivery" so I could use sieve, which works nicely with Horde. This is mostly as described on the wiki: http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA I'm using maildirsize in my case. There were a few things that had to be done to get it to work with quotas, I thought I would just spell it all out for anyone reading this list in the future: I can add stuff if anyone would like to the wiki, some of these items are elsewhere in the wiki, I wanted to ask before I put a full page up for integration with Vexim in particular. Should I do this, or just throw bits and peices where they seem relevant? This was on FreeBSD, hence the /usr/local/etc/ stuff.
