[Dovecot] Corrupt mbox folders after migration from uw-imap

After migrating our mail server from uw-imap to dovecot at the weekend we've had a few corrupted mbox folders. I assume this is due to messages with bad Content-length headers. Is there any way of checking the Content-length of messages in mbox folders? Thanks -- Ian

Hi list., With dovecot-rc7 I am getting the following error when delivering to root while queue gets bigger with failed attempts: deliver(nobody): stat(/root/Maildir) failed: Permission denied deliver(nobody): stat(/root/.dovecot.sieve) failed: Permission denied deliver(nobody): lstat(/root/Maildir/cur) failed: Permission denied What am I missing? In postfix/main.cf home_mailbox = Maildir/ mailbox_command = /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/deliver Thanks !

[Dovecot] Crash of 1.0rc7

Hi, I pasted the logs in #dovecot already, but maybe someone here has a little bit more insight. I'm running dovecot cvs branch_1_0 from Sep. 16th. Dovecot is doing LDAP userdb/passdb and I'm using deliver for local deliveries. Today my users complained about not being able to login anymore. I am just trying to do a stock compile of dovecot-1.0.rc7 Ran the ./configure fine. See Below. Hi All, I've just upgraded to Dovecot 1.0.rc7-1 with Postfix 2.3 on Debian Etch and it's trashing my email. I get lots of the errors below as well as other strange ones in my logs. I don't use NFS. Mail comes in via Postfix, gets passed through MailScanner, gets passed back to Postfix and then Postfix passes it to Dovecot's LDA via: mailbox_command = /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver Deliver then chokes and get's a little upset. Is there anyway to wipe out all the indexes/uidlists etc and just have Dovecot regenerate them all with a clean slate? Has anybody seen this with dovecot LDA before? Any hints about troubleshooting it? Is the best plan just to copy my imap mail out, nuke the folders and then copy the mail back in again? I am trying to get Dovecot - Postfix - SASL to work. [Dovecot] Problem with pop3 login

Hi, Im using dovecot version 0.99.11 and I'm facing a situation with one pop3 client. This is a fax application (faxmaker for windows) written by a third party that tries to login to the dovecot as USER username@domain. When the application tries to login that way, my dovecot rejects the auth. All the other pop3 clients (outlook, eudora,etc) in the system log in correctly because they do just USER username. The only failures related to the login (and I have debug enabled in dovecot) are: Sep 15 15:17:57 mail pop3-login: Aborted login [ipaddress] How ca I tell dovecot to ignore the domain part for that user? I am not using virtual support. [Dovecot] Nuby experiences

Hello all, I am new to dovecot and have had a good experience so far. I'm using fetchmail - exim - dovecot - my email clients (mac os mail and thunderbird so far). I'm also using Ubuntu Server i.e. debian. I didn't like the inflexibility of mbox so I did a tweak to exim to deliver mail to a Maildir folder in my home directory on the server. I restarted Dovecot and it found it! Very nice but mysterious. I don't remember if I did anything to the dovecot.conf file. My clients balk at the ssl certificate that was created at install time. I see a little bit of documentation on SSL. I'll struggle with it. I'm going to look at more client setups like evolution and a webmail client. Can anyone recommend a good ajax-driven webmail client? Dovecot is good software. I'm happy I found it.
