Dear All I encountered some problem while i tried to configure Dovecot with LDAP. configuration directory: /usr/local/src/dovecot-1.0.beta8 configure command: ./configure CPPFLAGS=-I/usr/local/include LDFLAGS=-L/usr/local/lib --with-ldap /usr/local/include# ls -F lber.h lber_types.h ldap.h ldap_cdefs.h ldap_features.h ldap_schema.h ldap_utf8.h openssl/ slapi-plugin.h /usr/local/lib# ls *.a libcrypto.a liblber.a libldap.a libldap_r.a libssl.a My configure output: Install prefix ...................... : /usr/local File offsets ........................ : 64bit I/O loop method ..................... : poll File change notification method ..... : dnotify Building with SSL support ........... : no Building with IPv6 support .......... : yes Building with pop3 server ........... : yes Building with GSSAPI support ........ : no Building with user database modules . : static prefetch passwd passwd-file checkpassword (modules) Building with password lookup modules : passwd passwd-file shadow pam checkpassword (modules) Building with SQL drivers ............: It does not seem to have LDAP configured. [Dovecot] trying to build dovecot-sieve

Hi, I'm trying to compile dovecot with dovecot-sieve, both from CVS. There is file dovecot-config.in.in in current dovecot module, which produce dovecot-config.in after ./configure'ing. But dovecot-sieve requires file dovecot-config to be in dovecot's directory. I think it is just typo, because after renaming dovecot-config.in to dovecot-config the building succeeded. -- Sergey Ivanov

[Dovecot] quotas on shared folders

Hi, After using dovecot 0.99.14 on a production server with full satisfaction, I'm now giving a try to 1.0beta8 (I know beta9 is out, but it's not yet available within Debian). The new features are great. Maildir++ quotas seem to work fine, and shared folders look promising (despite a few issues). My problem is that I could not fire out how to set quotas on shared folders. [Dovecot] [PATCH, RFC 0/13] OTP: add auth_cache_remove()

This patchset add support for One-Time-Password authentication mechanisms, both S/Key (RFC 1731) and OTP (RFC 2444) are implemented. Tested with mutt (uses cyrus sasl library for authentication). Patches were made against CVS HEAD. Please take a look. Hello! I have very strange problem with dovecot and thunderbird while deleting messages. The problem is that they are not actually deleted from storage filesystem and if I later run mutt I can perfectly see them, though marked with 'D', so mutt ask to delete them on exit and this time they dissapear from filesystem. I enabled in thunderbird 'remove it iimediately' feature, but this doesn't help. When I delete message from mutt it removed from filesystem just fine. IMAP server: OS: FreeBSD 6.1p2 dovecot: dovecot-1.0.b9 Client: OS: Debian sarge Thunderbird: thunderbird 1.5.0.4 (from backports.org) Any suggestions ?

[Dovecot] Squirrel mail search tool fails

When I do a search in squirrelmail, it will start giving several results, but then fails. I use squirrelmail via https. maillog reveils: file message-body-search.c: line 391 (message_body_search_ctx): assertion failed: (input->v_offset <= part->physical_pos) Squirrel mail browser interface reveils: ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server. I just cut-over to CentOS4.3 (fresh install) from FC1 and this is the first bug which I have never seen before. Never have used Dovecot before. [Dovecot] Dovecot with Imp problems

Hi guys, I've run into a strange problem using beta 8 and beta 9 when using the latest version of Horde/IMP Through IMP, I can see that there are messages in the maildir on the sidemenu(popup menu) but the emails don't show in my actual inbox. I thought this was an IMP problem, but then I downgraded to dovecot 99 series RPM and this resolved the problem. I was seeing the following error in my logs, when I tried to log into a mailbox through IMP. Jun 21 09:22:46 mail dovecot: IMAP(davew): file index-mail.c: line 105 (index_mail_get_fixed_field): assertion failed: (buffer_get_used_size(buf) == data_size) Jun 21 09:22:46 mail dovecot: child 6217 (imap) killed with signal 6 Thanks, I hope this helps. [Dovecot] UID sync errors

Hello, I recently converted my 300+ email user system over to Dovecot. It is working fantastically, except for UID sync errors. I read everything I could find and only saw others with those problems in version 0.99 below. My log shows errors like this all day long for pretty much all users: dovecot: Jun 25 19:12:46 Error: POP3(nmichel): Maildir /home/rtb/users/nmichel/.Maildir sync: UID < next_uid (42 < 43, file = msg.oP8c:2,) dovecot: Jun 25 19:25:59 Error: IMAP(lcrowe): Maildir /home/dentist/users/lcrowe/.Maildir sync: UID inserted in the middle of mailbox (70 > 4, file = msg.AM81:2,) When this happens, IMAP and POP3 drop the connections sending errors to their clients. I use squirrelmail over IMAP and some new emails never appear until I delete the index files. I have tried deleting indexes, and the problem continued. I went from dovecot-1.0.beta3 to dovecot-1.0.beta9 and still happens. The only way it doesn't happen is when I append the INDEX=MEMORY trick as in: default_mail_env = maildir:~/.Maildir:INDEX=MEMORY but then it's all so slow for large mailboxes, it's painful. Here are some of my specs: Linux kernel 2.6.15 Maildir Auth from /etc/shadow Users from /etc/passwd Does anyone have any hints on where I should start? Thanks in advance. I love Dovecot. [Dovecot] OE pop3 > imap subfolder migration?

Hello. This isn't actually a dovecot question, but I'm running in clienys servers dovecot mostly as pop3 server and now started to migrate some servers to imap. But as clients uses Outlook Express how to transfer their pop3 settings and mailboxes to imap?. Making a new mail account for imap is easy, and drag & drop the default folders (inbox, outbox etc) messages to imap accounts default folders is easy, but what about subfolders? Some users have hundreds subfolders and creating them & transfering messages by hand is a pain. So have anyone a better and faster solution how to migrate Outlook Express pop3 account to the imap account, preserving the same folders, rules etc. -- Sysadmin
