[Dovecot] Fedora 4: x86_64 different build options than i386?

After successful testing on our 32-bit machine using the rpm, I'm installing dovecot on our Fedora 64-bit machine using that rpm. In the log file I get: dovecot: Mar 31 15:34:16 Error: auth(default): Unknown database driver 'mysql' I see this: # dovecot --build-options Build options: ioloop=poll dnotify ipv6 openssl Passdb: checkpassword pam passwd passwd-file shadow Userdb: checkpassword passwd passwd-file static and dovecot is in: /usr/local/sbin/dovecot But on my 32-bit Fedora machine, also installed from the rpm, I get this: # dovecot --build-options Build options: ioloop=poll dnotify ipv6 openssl mysql postgresql sqlite Passdb: checkpassword ldap pam passwd passwd-file shadow sql Userdb: checkpassword ldap passwd passwd-file sql static and dovecot is in: /usr/sbin Shouldn't the 64-bit machine have the same build-options? What can I do to make it right? Do I *have* to build it from a tarball? Charlie Davis

Yeah, I got your latest from your website. Google's top return for you was an older release. Using your .5 I believe it is. For x86_64 of course. [Dovecot] Quick question. Thunderbird/Outlook = no love.

Are there any how-tos or documentation on getting dovecot to be thunderbird/outlook friendly? Thunderbird can connect about 20% of the time, the other 80% of the time, I Get the error: "You may need to connect via SSL or TLS. Please check the account settings for your mail server." I have my thunderbird setup to do TLS. I've put it on the TLS if available as well, still no love. Dovecot logfile contains: dovecot: Mar 31 17:25:19 Info: imap-login: Aborted login: rip=10.0.0.4, lip=10.0.0.208, TLS dovecot: Mar 31 17:25:24 Info: imap-login: Aborted login: rip=10.0.0.4, lip=10.0.0.208, TLS Nothing else. Oh, I forgot to mention that if I turn on plain text authentication, it works fine. Fixed this by getting the latest x86_64 rpm from Ignacio Vazquez-Abrams' repository. Hi One Wed I posted the following message and have had no replies. I am reposting as I think this is a Dovecot bug but I am not sure. If anyone can assist on this I'd be most grateful. Tks ----------------------------------------------------- Hi I am testing FC5 before upgrading my main server and I am getting errors with dovecot 1.0 beta3 - both the distributed RPM and also the one at ATrpms and thunderbird (the distributed version which is thunderbird-1.5-6) I am running both dovecot and thunderbird on the same machine, pointing thunderbird at 127.0.0.1 for its imap server. The symptoms are an inability to access mail - thunderbird just keeps on trying and getting nowhere and even if I shut down thunderbird on the client, it still leaves processes running that have to be killed by hand. [Dovecot] Courier to Dovecot Maildir converstion

Hello, I am running Dovecot 0.99 on OpenSuse 10.0. Previously, I was running courier IMAP with vpopmail on Suse 9.3. In the process of the change, I decided to sing MySQL to authenticate the users, provide home dir, uid and gid. I tar'ed up the old mail directories, moved them to the new server, added a new user and group to own the files, set the files uid/gid to match the values in the db. Next, I followed the Migration directions on http://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration. I can successfully authenticate the new users, have no errors in the log file but when I am logged in I only see the Inbox. There should be other folders as well as mail in the inbox. No errors in the log files. Any ideas?

[Dovecot] Authentication Problem MD5 hashs

Hello I've migrated to dovecot-1.0beta3 and I have taken over the password files from an older system. For some reason the md5 hashs have "[" chars in the salt. For example like this $1$[xxxXX[E$bg/d4JdSSf2kTL8sXXxXXX Now the problem is that in the file src/auth/db-passwd-file.c on line 43 for libpam-pwdfile compatibility it will be searched for "[" to find the type of the password hash. Then only the hash up to this point will be used in future for comparing the passwords. The problem line. p = pass == NULL ? NULL : strchr(pass, '['); I changed the behavior to always use the complete hash out of the file because I don't use pam. Does anyone know if [ chars are allowed in md5 hashs? [Dovecot] Custom Quotas

Greetings I'm currently working on a design, to integrate an IMAP server into our existing mail architecture. It's proving to be a difficult exercise, mainly because of how we structure our quotas. In our system, the quota covers more than just email. We have a single quota that covers email, ftp directory, and personal homepage. The quota is stored in a mysql database, in a werid table structure. The quota allocation is stored against the user, while the quota usage is stored in 3 rows per user, in a seperate table; One row each for www, email, and ftp per user. I'm currently trying to figure out how we could integrate this quota into Dovecot. I'm quite happy to write plugin to handle updating the quota in our system, but I have no idea where to start. Any information you could provide on updating a quota in a third party system would be much appreciated. Thanks for you help.
