[Dovecot] PINE + dovecot

Hi list, I have installed dovecot on fedora4 and I migrated courier-imap to dovecot with instructions given on the site. everthing works fine for thunderbird, horde, evolution and mail/macosx.. but i have some pbs with pine because it doesnt read .subscriptions and directories aren't seen as it should be seen like in the .subscription. maybe i should reconfigure the .pinerc correctly, but what should I put in place then? does anyone have a .pinerc template that reads like other mail browsers with dovecot? When I have it set to disable_plaintext_auth = no I can get POP working but IMAP throws back errors. Any other thoughts?

[Dovecot] Solved problem with index corruption (new mail not seen)

Having had many problems in the past with IDLE not working, new messages not being seen from Thunderbird, and sometimes garbage seen as part of mailboxes, I eventually added some workaround/sanity check patch to the imap_sync_deinit code to reread the offsets from the index and that solved the problem. Now with beta7 (I've previously used beta2), this seems not to be necessary anymore. I installed vanilla beta7 and couldn't reproduce the problem in any way! I'm not sure what has changed there, and haven't yet checked if I see anything relevant, so this is just to let you know, and ask - any idea which change could have caused this. Happily I will soon be going on with working around other issues I have here, and start bugging you in the list again. [Dovecot] IMAP/Plain Text issue with Dovecot

I finally got Dovecot working pretty good I just have one small problem. I can't seem to log in via IMAP, now everything works great through POP but when I try to login via IMAP I get the following error: "PLAIN authentication failed. None of the authentication methods supported by your IMAP server are supported this computer" Anyone seen this before?

[Dovecot] Problem with dovecot-lda with imap and Maildir

Hello all, I've installed dovecot-lda today and it's working fine. [Dovecot] Bug: quota-maildir.c, array accessed out of bounds

Timo, In src/plugins/quota/quota-maildir.c, in the maildirsize_read() function, if the maildirsize file is greater that 5120 bytes, this code breaks because the while loop executes multiple times, incrementing size to a value larger than 5120, and then size is later used to referece the buf array out of bounds. [Dovecot] PAM authentication woes with MacOSX

Hi. I've just compiled and installed 1.0beta7 on MacOSX 10.4.6. I have lost the battle with PAM authentication. When I connect to the IMAP server and provide the correct user name and password, the mail client is told authentication failed. Which is true. I tried that unsuccessfully too. Can anyone shed any light on what's been misconfigured or how to turn on enough debugging to show where I'm going wrong? Thanks. BTW, here's what I think is the relevant bit of dovecote.conf: auth default { mechanisms = plain passdb pam { args = dovecot } userdb passwd { } user = root }
