[Dovecot] Managesieve displays folder name (dovecot/sieve)

Hi, I'm using Dovecot 1.2.4 with ManageSieve 0.11.9 and Sieve. All works fine but users can subscribe to the folder "dovecot/sieve" which is also displayed in the folders list. protocols = imap managesieve protocol managesieve { listen = ip_address:2000 managesieve_logout_format = bytes ( in=%i : out=%o ) } plugin { sieve=~/Maildir/.dovecot.sieve sieve_dir=/home/vmail/%d/%n/Maildir } In the maildir of the user I see this folders and files: .Drafts/ .Sent cur/ new/ temp/ sieve/ @.dovecot.sieve ingo.sieve The file "ingo.sieve" comes from Horde Ingo because users manage their scripts with ingo.The symlink "dovecot.sieve" is correct and point to ingo.sieve. When users browse their available IMAP folders they'll see a folder "dovecot/sieve". Can this be turned off or restricted with acl's? Without an symlink all folders are displayed normally without the "dovecot sieve" folder. Thanks.

The same result - TB still reports 20GB quota for user foo, the above "echo" command still reports 20971520, but(!), quota is actually unlimited for anyone. When I set some limit in ~foo/Maildir/maildirsize now, same values 20971520) are reported, although the limit works! Hi, I've a mail server with Postfix and Dovecot, using a LDAP backend to get the users. I've also configure quota rules, and I'm able to get the quota from LDAP. But I need the mails that come from the local domain to bypass the quota rule and be delivered to the users' inbox. Is there any way to do that? [Dovecot] Automatic fd limit changing

I just realized that Dovecot should probably be doing something different with how it handles fd limits. The way it currently works is: 1. It checks some settings and warns at startup if fd limit is lower than what master process might need. 2. For login processes it calculates how many fds are needed and then either increases or decreases it. So it's automatically and silently increasing fd limit for some processes, but not for others. Should it just automatically increase the limits to all processes when necessary, or never increase and just warn that the limit is too low?

I've upgraded mine Dovecot 1.0.15 to 1.2.4 also moved to new Sieve. I have simple sieve rule: if header :contains "Delivered-To" ["bcc(a)bcc.inblock.ru"] { setflag "\\Seen"; } It basically mark my own messages which are saved to Sent folder. When I was on 1.0.15 I never seen unread count in Thunderbird, but suddenly after upgrade I seen unread message in Sent folder just after I've sent message. If I open Sent folder it already marked as read. Me wonder if this is actually Dovecot much faster delivers and reports to MUA there is new unread message or Sieve not perform fast enough?

I'm using a Postfix, Dovecot, MySQL setup with virtual domains. I have mail being delivered through Dovecot LDA working 100%. I'm trying to use sieve to handle vacation messages but dovecot is not reading the .dovecot.sieve file in the users maildir. I have a hunch it has to do with my dovecot-sql query but have had no success with what I found in the forums from Googling. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've recently hit a bug after updating pam, while pam-ssh passphrase authentication become enabled. Dovecot-auth crashes as users having private a key stored in .ssh try to log in. [Dovecot] IMAP clients suddenly redownload folder headers

We had an issue today with IMAP clients (Thunderbird, Outlook) having to redownload headers for folders. This issue was eerily close to a MySQL database structure change that shouldn't have affected any related queries, however we did notice an event of user CPU % not being reported via SNMP around the same time for the server. There are no entries in our dovecot error log around the outage. We're running Dovecot 1.1.13 with MySQL being used for user and password queries, and Maildir for storage on a fibre channel SAN. However, it is possible for some stores to be on an NFS mount (supporting legacy during migration), which is why there is the nfs options in the below config. I'm wondering if someone could shed light on what could cause this to occur. I imagine it's related to the index cache's, but the lack of any mention in the error logs has me puzzled. Hi Timo, I solved the problem. The problem was the right order in dovecot.conf. "userdb ldap" should stand in front of "userdb static". Hello, I'm trying to configure my user_attrs using LDAP as the userdb so that dovecot knows what secondary groups a user is a member of. The LDAP backend is an Open Directory implementation, which stores secondary group affiliations as memberUid attributes in cn=groupname,cn=groups,dc=dns,dc=name,dc=server. Hi, I plan on upgrading from 1.1.13 to 1.2.4 using an RPM. I have read the wiki [1] and have a question about the mail_location variable. Currently, in 1.1.13, I use: mail_location = maildir:/var/spool/virtual_mailboxes/%h with virtual mailboxes. However, I am planning to change it to use: home=/var/spool/virtual_mailboxes mail_location = maildir:%h as part of the new configuration. Is that correct or have I misinterpreted the wiki? This is the only server we've got running this software. We're not seeing this on any of our other 5 servers running the 1.1.x series. Namely 1.1.6 on Solaris 10u6. [Dovecot] General question for Dovecot under OpenBSD

Hello All, First of all thanks a lot for providing a quality software such as Dovecot. I am having troubles for setting up the config files of OpenBSD's binary package of Dovecot, flavor sieve/mysql. Do you know where some documentation could be found for setting up correctly the .conf (dovecot.conf & dovecot-sql.conf) since it does not even load ("Error in configuration file /etc/dovecot.conf line 871: Unknows setting: args"). I shall understand that the problem lies in dovecot-sql.conf, which is not a file I understand well and can configure correctly, as it seems. Some more docs/infos about this issue could be helpful. [Dovecot] Thunderbird does not find the right folders :-(

Moika, Overnight, I migrated my user-mails from uw-imap to dovecot-maildir. I used the uw2dovecot.pl script to convert all mails and changed exim, too. Receiving mails works fine allready, but nobody can access the usual subscribed folders with thunderbird. Via "subscriptions" I can find the converted folders in a folder called "_" (underline). People getting mad about me as the cannot find their stuff any more in the usual folders. What can I do that they have the converted stuff in the same folders as they had before? Hi Timo, No, I mean, when I try to subscribe folders, I get offered a folder "_" with some subfolders. I do a screenshot, its maybe better to understand. Has anybody noticed this behavior when using maildir quota with Version 1.2.4: # 1.2.4: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux 2.6.26-2-686-bigmem i686 Debian 5.0.3 xfs My default configurations quota configurations: plugin: quota: maildir:User quota quota_rule: *:storage=2G Customized Use Configurations at the Mysql level: user_query = SELECT 5000 AS uid,5000 AS gid,'/vmail/%d/%n' as home, \ concat('*:storage= ', virtual_users.quota_kb) AS quota_rule \ from virtual_users LEFT JOIN virtual_domains ON virtual_users.domain_id=virtual_domains.id \ where virtual_users.user='%n' and virtual_domains.name='%d' When I change quota at the SQL level (per user), that quota becomes active once Dovecot is restarted. Until then it keeps the previous quota assigned. I do not remember seeing this behavior in previous versions --quota was active after sql changes. M.A.

[Dovecot] fixing deleted-to-trash-plugin

Hi, I'm currently trying to make the deleted-to-trash-plugin work with dovecot v1.2.4, without this plugin the trash mailbox is pretty useless with mail clients like Evolution and Outlook, I still can't believe this functionality isn't intergrated into dovecot since it doesn't even influence the operation of other mail clients that do support this option theirselfs (even when turned on, the plugin detects this and doesn't break the client's functionality). I have modified the plugin to run without errorsin 1.2.4, when using a mail client which doesn't support this feature in the client itself, (according to my debug and the mail-log plugin output) everything works, but the mails are deleted as expected but not visible in the Trash box, it looks like they where copied to /dev/null :P (even though the log output makes me think otherwise). Log output: Sep 09 20:21:09 IMAP(xxx(a)xxx.xxx): Info: opening Trash succeeded Sep 09 20:21:09 IMAP(xxx(a)xxx.xxx): Info: from INBOX to Trash, previous action from (null) Sep 09 20:21:09 IMAP(xxx(a)xxx.xxx): Info: copy: uid=11, dest=Trash, msgid=<7706BCE6-6882-473C-B7F3-62AE3F75F632(a)xxx.xxx>, size=1718 Sep 09 20:21:09 IMAP(xxx(a)xxx.xxx): Info: copying to Trash succeeded Sep 09 20:21:09 IMAP(xxx(a)xxx.xxx): Info: delete: uid=11, msgid=<7706BCE6-6882-473C-B7F3-62AE3F75F632(a)xxx.xxx> The clients I used to test: Evolution and Outlook (they both don't support this feature from the client) and the mail client on an iPhone (which does support this feature, the plugin detects that the client already copied the mail to the Trash box and skips it).
